Rounding and Grace Time – Fair and Flexible Time Tracking
In many workplaces, it’s not always practical—or fair—to pay employees for every minute they’re clocked in. For example, staff may arrive a few minutes early and spend that time chatting, having a coffee, or reading the news. This is where rounding rules become useful.
Rounding allows you to adjust clock times to the nearest set increment—such as 15-minute intervals. So, if someone clocks in at 08:57, the system can round this up to 09:00 for payroll purposes.
Similarly, if an employee arrives just a minute or two late, you may not want to penalise them by rounding their time forward to the next full interval (e.g., 09:01 becoming 09:15). To handle this fairly, you can apply a grace period—for instance, 3 minutes—so that any clock-in between 09:00 and 09:03 is still recorded as 09:00.
Together, rounding and grace settings give you the flexibility to handle minor clock-in/out variances fairly, while keeping your payroll accurate and aligned with your policies.
Flexible Absence Management
Create as many absence types as your organisation requires—such as holiday, sick leave, training, or unpaid leave. Employees’ absences can then be easily booked into the absence calendar, giving you a clear, centralised view of both past and upcoming absences.
You can also generate detailed absence reports for any time period—whether it’s this week, next week, or any custom date range you need—helping you plan and manage resources more effectively.
